A fellow and past president of the Institute of Toastmasters, Robert Gee has a photo album full of guest celebrities at events where he has been on duty. These include celebrities such as Eastenders actress Wendy Richard, comedians June Whitfield and Barry Took, weatherman Michael Fish, Anthea Turner, Fern Britton and Sir Henry Cooper.

His personal favourite was the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Having met her twice before, she was at a dinner with Robert as the Toastmaster, when she came over to him and made a point of saying "good evening Mr Gee, so nice to see you again". Robert was touched that she had made the effort to find out his name. He recognised the charisma she had that lit up the room every time she walked in.
